Tiffani Sommerville
High School English Teacher
Mrs. Sommerville is dedicated to helping students develop strong communication skills through reading, writing, and thoughtful discussion. Her classroom encourages critical thinking, creativity, and clear self-expression, while integrating faith and character development into literature and writing studies. She is committed to supporting students as they grow into confident communicators and reflective learners.
Sarai Ruff
High School Math Teacher

- Saraí Ruff is a Christian math educator passionate about working with young people and sharing God’s truth through the principles of mathematics. She seeks to help students see math not only as a subject to be mastered, but as a reflection of God’s order, consistency, and faithfulness. Through intentional instruction, high expectations, and Christ-centered relationships, she encourages students to grow academically, spiritually, and personally.
- Outside of the classroom she enjoys spending time with family and their furry friend Lia, reading, and walking.
Steven Dulcich
High School Science Teacher
- About me:
- Steven Dulcich is an alumnus of Bakersfield Adventist Academy and holds a Master’s degree in secondary Science Curriculum. He is NAD professionally certified and has a California State CLEAR Credential to provide English Learner instruction in Biological Sciences, Geosciences, and Chemistry. He has been teaching for 25 years and has taught at BAA for 12 of those years. As a Science Teacher, he employs hands-on learning in our lab-based curriculum to develop the God-given natural curiosity found in all students. Mr. Dulcich also serves as our Athletic Director where he facilitates all aspects of the sports programs here at BAA, including coaching, budgeting, scheduling and compliance. As an integral part of our continuous school improvement plan, Mr. Dulcich also functions as our WASC coordinator and leads the school’s accreditation process by facilitating the self-study, gathering data, coordinating stakeholder committees, and ensuring compliance with accreditation standards. Outside of school, he enjoys traveling with his family, mountain biking and hiking.
