Our History
Since 1902, Bakersfield Adventist Academy has helped families in Bakersfield give their children an education built on faith, learning, and service.
More than a century of educating for eternity
Bakersfield Adventist Academy began in 1902, making it one of the oldest private schools in California. Generations of students have learned, worshiped, and grown up together here, and many of today’s BAA families include parents and grandparents who once walked the same halls.
Today, BAA is operated by the Central California Conference of Seventh-day Adventists in partnership with local constituent churches. Our campus at 3333 Bernard Street serves students from Kindergarten through Grade 12 on a single campus, and we welcome families of all faith backgrounds.
Our mission hasn’t changed: to educate for eternity, by developing the whole student to thrive spiritually, soar academically, and serve others faithfully.
