Maria Gonzalez
Maria quietly organized the entire Spring Supply Drive — sending texts, following up with families, and personally dropping off boxes at three different homes when people couldn’t make it in. Over 400 items collected. She never asked for credit, but the kids who opened those supplies on Monday morning told a different story.

David Kim
5th Grade Parent
Showed up at 6am before the Spring Fair to set up 80 chairs and 12 tables — done before most families even had their coffee. Stayed to help break it all down too.
🚗
Ashley Thompson
Middle School Mom
Covered carpool pickup for three weeks straight while Mrs. Reyes recovered from surgery. Not once did she complain or cancel. She just showed up, every single day.
🎁
The Morales Family
BAA Alumni Parents
Donated two large folding tables, a canopy tent, and a full box of decorations for the Spring Fair — all in perfect condition. These will last us years.

BAA families gave up their Saturday to repaint the cafeteria mural. It looked brand new by noon — students walked in Monday speechless.

Science Fair judging night — 14 parent volunteers turned the gym into a full research expo. Kids presented to actual “judges” and were so proud.

Submitted by Coach Martinez
Track and field day — 9 parents ran stations all morning, kept kids hydrated, and cheered louder than anyone on staff. It made the kids feel like champions.
  • 🔩Tony Reyes brought his own tools and fixed the gym door hinge that had been sticking for three months — took him 20 minutes and saved us a repair call.
  • ✏️Sandra Flores restocked every classroom’s supply shelf on her own dime — teachers only found out because she left a little handwritten note on each desk.
  • 🧹A crew of dads power-washed the front walkway and parking lot the night before Open House. Nobody asked them to. They just showed up with equipment.
  • 🍪Coach Martinez’s wife baked 200 cookies for the Teacher Appreciation luncheon — decorated with each teacher’s initial. Staff were genuinely moved.

For putting together the shoe drive and demonstrating such incredible leadership — always stepping up wherever the community needs it, and going the extra mile to mail off the shoes to earn money for the school!

A Note of Thanks

Bakersfield Adventist Academy is built on the hearts and hands of people who give far more than is ever asked. This page is a small attempt to say what words rarely can.

Thank you for your time and dedication to ensuring that the BAA website was revamped and looking its very best! And thank you for designing the platform to buy and sell tickets for the fundraiser — a project that involved far more work than most people realized, and made the event run smoothly for families across the community.

🎓
Dr. Cornforth

🤝
Monica

Thank you for always being willing to help and assist any time someone runs to you in a pinch. Your gracious, dependable spirit is one of those quiet things that holds this whole school together — and we are so grateful for you.

🎤
Our BAA Students

And finally — thank you to our amazing BAA students for your willingness to perform at the fundraiser and for doing such an incredible job. You are the reason all of this matters. Watching you step up and shine reminded every adult in that room exactly why we do what we do. We are so proud of each one of you.

💛

This school is what it is because of people who give quietly, serve faithfully, and show up — not for recognition, but because they love these kids and this community. Thank you for being that kind of people.

— With deep gratitude, Bakersfield Adventist Academy
